Executive Wellness Committee
Project Scope
 
 
The scope of the Executive Wellness Committee is to sustain a collaborative Culture of Health throughout the District 11 community by promoting and supporting healthy lifestyle behavior, with measurable results. 
 
The committee, consisting of representatives from employee benefits, food and nutrition services, athletics, risk management, instruction and health, nursing services, coordinated school health, and communications will consider the needs of students/parents, employees/family members, providers, and the community.
The Executive Wellness Committee, through the ABCs of Wellness Program (Achieve Behavior Change), establish a collaborative, sustainable Culture of Health at District 11 by ensuring for promotion, participation and practice of healthy lifestyle behavior, with measurable results  Communications and Public Relations will communicate new and updated information about the wellness campaign to all internal and external audiences; assist with guidance on marketing strategies and materials; and, help serve as the organization’s “eyes and ears” to relay what is working and not working back to the executive wellness committee Instruction, Curriculum, and Student Services will provide curriculum that promotes student health and wellness.; studies that will foster understanding of mental, emotional, and social health; build an awareness and understanding of these foundational skills and give students the knowledge to live healthy and productive lives
Employee Benefits will work collaboratively with various departments within D11 to provide the best health and wellness related services to our employees and their families The Role of Food & Nutrition Services is to improve the overall health of our community through the “foods” we consume.  We will do this by educating, modeling, and serving “good food” to our D11 community (students, parents, and staff) The Athletic and Physical Education department will promote and provide physical activity for students and staff to encourage lifelong healthy behaviors
Nursing Services will coordinate with community providers, parents, students and various departments to promote and enhance the health of every student and staff member so they can reach their potential to become successful, educated, life-long learners  Coordinated School Health is a planned and coordinated school-based program designed to enhance child and adolescent health providing a framework around which existing and future district and school-level programs and services can be organized Risk Management will assure that all strategies toward a culture of health at D11 will include assessing legal or other such exposures which could lead to losses along with monitoring the Wellness Budget
